How to navigate this unit

Welcome to this wellbeing unit! Looking after your wellbeing will help you flourish at university; equipping you with a resilient and confident mind-set. Your wellbeing is fundamental to your overall health; helping you overcome difficulties and achieve what you want out of life.

Your wellbeing is in your hands. This course is packed with helpful tips, tools and strategies that you can put into practice today and immediately experience the benefits.

There are five subtopics:

  1. Managing stress

  2. Self-awareness

  3. Resilience

  4. Physical wellbeing

  5. Adaptability

There is no particular order to take the modules – you can pick and mix. Here are some questions to help you decide where to begin.

Not sure where to start?

Self-awareness is important. When we have a better understanding of ourselves, we are empowered to make changes and build on our areas of strength, as well as identify areas where we would like to make improvements.

Feeling a little stressed and on edge?

You’ll find plenty of ideas for managing stress. Once we are aware of what triggers stress and understand how to manage it, we’re better at preventing it and alleviating it quickly.

Nervous about starting something new?

We often resist change. The more we can move towards change, the more confident we will be. Adaptability is a key skill that you can learn and strengthen so that you can progress with enthusiasm.

Feeling sluggish and unmotivated?

Physical wellbeing is a great place to start! Making small tweaks in what we eat and how often we move makes a big impact on how we are feeling.

Need some strength and va va voom?

Resilience is not about being strong and tough. It means having plenty of strategies at your fingertips, knowing how to look after yourself, and knowing to ask for what you need in tough situations.
